The directors of our centre are highly motivated professionals who organise and manage a great team.
All our staff are given guidance and ongoing support to reach professional satisfaction and growth. In turn they provide experiences and incorporate teaching opportunities that are deliberate and purposeful to help engage the children. We’re very proud of our staff as they help to lead each child from the exciting days of early learning, through a smooth transition into school.
The directors are your first point of call for any questions or concerns you may have. Now, let them tell you a little about themselves...
Bec Turton – Centre Director – WillowBee 1
I have over 15 years experience of working in the early childhood industry. I have a Certificate III, a Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care and am studying my Bachelor of Teaching. I have experience working as a Room Leader and moved into the position of Director at WillowBee in January 2018. I enjoy leading and supporting a team of dedicated and caring early childhood educators. I believe that the centre is an extension to the home environment and we work together with the families to allow the children to learn, play, have fun and become independent individuals.
Cathy Curtin – Centre Director – WillowBee 2
I have been teaching children for twenty years, and I have focused on Early Childhood for the majority of that time. I am an Early Childhood Teacher with a degree in Primary school teaching and a Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education. I moved to Australia from the UK ten years ago and I have been working at WillowBee for three years. I am passionate about teaching children to be independent, enthusiastic learners. I love fostering their sense of wonder and being able to see each child transform and reach their full potential and become lovely members of our community.
Debbie Carroll – Centre Director – WillowBee 2
I completed my teaching degree (BADipED) straight from school. I also have both a Certificate III and a Diploma in Early Childhood Care and Education. I have experience in education across all age groups - adult training, HSC tutoring, primary tutoring, preschooler teaching and running my own business offering a Gross Motor program to children 1-5 Years. I have two grown children and have very recently become a grandmother. Working with young children is very rewarding as I have the opportunity to make a difference in how the 'whole' child develops and thrives. Working as a team with the staff and parents, the uniqueness of each child is acknowledged. I work consistently to ensure that each child reaches their fullest potential in every area of their development.
Vanessa Merchant – General Manager Operations
My experience of working with children spans more than twenty years, initially as a paediatric registered nurse and then as an Early Childhood Teacher. I hold a Bachelor of Teaching (Birth to Five Years) as well as an AMI Montessori 0-3 Diploma. I believe that all children should be given the opportunity to grow and discover, learn what they are able to do and be encouraged to try new things, assisted by caring educators and families to develop to their full potential.
As General Manager Operations, I am here to assist the Directors and the Owners in the background running of the centres as well as being on hand to assist families.
